Additional Linksys WGA54G Wireless-G Gaming Adapter Information
|
The Wireless-G Game Adapter gives any wired Ethernet-equipped game console wireless connection capabilities. The Game Adapter can be used in two different ways. If you have an existing home wireless network and a cable or DSL Internet connection, the Game Adapter lets your PlayStation 2, Xbox or GameCube attach to the network so you can get into online games without running wires to the game room. Or, use a pair of Game Adapters to form a "cable-less cable" between two game consoles for head-to-head gaming - in the same room, or all the way across the house. It's completely driver-free, so it works on any platform. Since there are no drivers to load, setup is a snap. In some cases, it works right out of the box! If your setup's a little different - just configure the network settings through your PC's web browser, plug it into your game box, and go.The Wireless-G Game Adapter provides lag-free gaming with communication speeds up to 54Mbps when connected to other Wireless-G devices. It can also connect to Wireless-B (802.11b) devices and networks at 11Mbps.Spend your time gaming, not stringing wires, with the Linksys Wireless-G Game Adapter.

What Customers Say About Linksys WGA54G Wireless-G Gaming Adapter:

wish it supported wpa2 but oh well wep is good enough. dont know why people are complaining about setup. took all of 3 minutes to set it up and im on a mac.
Annoying. In addition, the box runs very hot. The signal is dropped daily (it is 100% strength when it works) and the only thing that seems to work now is re-booting the hardware and getting the xbox to re-connect to the signal. I am wondering if that is connected to the dropped signal. You can read other reviews about setting this up. I have no issues with the product for over a year, but now it is becoming less and less reliable.
Make sure you transfer those settings to all of your memory cards or you will drop offline. The product seems to be good although the instructions provided by Linksys are worthless. I followed the instructions provided by two different reviewers (Red Rhino and "Rico") and got the device configured and working on my PS2 in an hour.NOTE: You will need to set a static IP address (I used 192.168.1.249, gateway 255.255.255.1, DNS 192.168.1.1) to get the PS2 to connect.
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R21XO8FYMPWKSM Just a brief film on my WGA54G Gaming Adapter by Linksys using it as a bridge for Ethernet connection for Blu-ray players BD-Live.
I recommend just doing whatever it takes to hard wire your game system to your network. It did not work all the time and then stopped working at all. It will be easier than fussing with this thing. I prefer Linksys for all my home networking needs but, I can not recommend this device. I used it to connect xbox to the wireless internet.
